My year of documented learning

Astronomy
My faverate topic in astronomy was the solor system and the black hole. The solor system was really interesting to learn about because of all the planets and the sun. The black hole was an other faverate of mine because of how it could suck up eneything. These were really fun to learn. Espeshaly when we did the exparoments.

Earth's Atmosphere
I had a lot of fun learning about the atmosphere. It had a lot of dietals of what was in it and how it heated the Earth by the green house effect. It is really cool how it can keep us protected from the sun's harmful raise. It's fasenating on how it has 4 different sections in it. There is the Trofasphere, the Mesasphere, the Thermosphere, and the Stratosphere.

Geology
I don't really know what my faverate is in geology. Oh, I got it one of my faverates was the earthquack section. OOoo, another was the sea floor spreding. My real faverate was the volcanos. They were really exploseve and intreaging.

Weathering and Earotion
For this one my faverates were the hardness of rocks and the three types of rock. The three types of rock are ignious, metamorfic, and sedimentery rocks. The hardness of a rock looked prity cool to try because you try to cut the rock on hard surfaces. The dimend is the hardesed on the hard scale. I forgot what the softesed was but I know it could be cut by a paper clip.

Earth's waters
It was really cool to learn more about water. I didn't know that water had a surface tension on it. I didn't know thatit could desalve most elements. I really did know that I was wasting a lot of water a day untel I learned about it in this section. Thank you Mrs. Casey for all that you have toat me this year, hope you get that job as tech teacher.

Penny lab reasalts

In the penny lab you had to estemat how meny drops of water a penny could hold.
I estemated about 4 drops.
The second thing to do was to see really how meny apnny drops of water a penny could hold.
When I tested my thery on if a penny could only hold 4 deops of water.
My thery was not right for the penny held more then 4 drops of water, it held 5 to 6 drops of water.

The Hoover Dam

The Hoover Dam was built on top of the unpredictable Colorado River in the middle of the 19 hundreds. When I test the water for contamination after the water has went through the engines that purify the water. After I check the water, I go and check on the other workers and when I go in the engine room. I have to put on ear muffs because the engines make a lot of sound that came heart the ear drum. When I am don checking on the workers, I go to my office and wright down the data from the water samples and test them. When people drive on top of the Hoover Dam, I never see anyone pollute at all and the river is always clean.

Earthquakes

#1. Earthquakes tend to happen all around the world but mostly in the Pacific.

#2. I think that Earthquakes mostly happen in the Pacific because the Earthquakes have faults by shifting over each other or crash into each other.

#3. The area is called jerk.

#4. The closes ed Earthquake to Manitou Springs is in Colorado. It's magnitude was 3.2 and people felt it in Grand Encampment, WY, Riverside, WY, Dixon, WY, Fort Collins, CO, and in Denver, CO. The magnitude of this Earthquake is 3.2.

#5. The magnitude was 5.1. The depth was 9.9 miles into the Earth. Earthquakes are common in this area. The places that felt it were in TOKYO, Japan, Mito, Honshu, Japan, Hachijo-jima, Izu Islands, Japan, and Iwaki, Honshu, Japan. The Location Uncertainty was horizontal 5.8 milesand the depth was 25.3 miles.

#6. People cane protect themselves by having Sturdy shoes Sturdy shoes, Heavy gloves for clearing debris, Candles and matches, Light sticks, Change of clothing, Knife or razor blades, Garden hose for siphoning and fire fighting, Tent, Toys for children, and Communication kit: paper, pens, stamps. There is one more thing and it is a First aid kit, freshly stocked and a First aid book.
